Moments for Fri, 14th Apr 2006 :
Wow...TIme really flies.. another 14th comes by once again.. THis time is gd fri too. Take tis opportunity 2 wish every1 happy holiday. Hmm wake up n meet Dawn at ps. We went to buy tickets 2 watch movie. We watched 2 movies 2day. "take the lead" n "Eight Below". After buying the tickets, we went to mac 4 lunch... Then its time to watch the 1st movie, "take the lead". Well the movie 4 me is quite great. Specially 4 those dance lovers.. My movies review is gettig shorter cuz the storyline is quite obvious....
IN actual, i watch tis movie is only becuz i'm fascinated by the different types of dances inside haha.. Ranging from Latin, Tango, Waltz, to those hip-hops, break dance, those modern type de. Then mixed both type 2gether. Ok the story line consist of a male lead actor, handsome n sexy guy, Antonios, dunno spell correctly or not. If i rmb correctly, he acted in the mask of Zorro. He's a pro in those high class dances, Then came across students in a school..The students r problematic n he volunteered to teach them dance during their detention classes.. He made use of dance to build up trust, teamwork n motivate them.
Of cuz many things happened n they trained dance n took part in the dance competition. During training, many comedys n laughters in the cinema. All these students become great n Pierres (Antonios) was fascinated by the youngsters modern type of dance. Then mixed his dance n their dance 2gether.. However, i think i love Waltz the most. The dance steps r graceful n classical.. Suits my personality =P Wearing my favourite formal western suit n classical music, haha day dreaming again.. Tango n Latin r gd too.. But too fast n fierce o.O! As i dunno which tyoe involves super close contact wif the dance partner -.-! Ok will not elaborate further =P ok tat's alli have to say abt the show. I love it.
After tat, we have i think half an hr left b4 the nxt show.. Thus we rush n watch 8 below.. Very touching show n the movie state tat its a true story.. Well story is a guy working in the snow area, like a guide to tourist, bringing traveller to the ice mountain n protect them during the journey.. Thus a professor need to find a special type of rock found in the snow area, thus this guy had 8 dogs. His favourites dogs.. Got name each..but i can't rmb all.. The oldest is old Jack, 2nd is Maya, 3rd is Max, then got shorty, Brown, Then rest 4get le, cuz not impt =P.
Thus these 8 dogs r trained as a transportation thru this dangerous snowy area.. got ice got lots of creatures in the snowy area.. On the way, got many dangerous adventures. 1st encounter was, walking in the snow, there r some spot was like a trap, meaning to say, the surface was covered wif snow, but the btm is a big hole.. Thus professer accidentally almost fall into 1 of the big holes.. But was saved.. 2nd they climbed a mtn but the headquarters coms the lead actor, 4get his name, call him Nick if i'm not wrong, tat a big snow storm will be coming soon.. n they better hurried back.. However, the professor dun wish to gif up so easily n go back empty headed.. Thus no choice they have to find it.. Finally found it but on the way back, Old jack was bleeding in 1 of its leg, thus have to stop n attend to its wound. Then the professor try to contact the hq to find out hows the snow storm..Accidentally, he falls from a small cliff n lands on ice grd.. Then the ice starts to crack n beneath r cold water...
Broke his leg, Unable to climb up, support on the rest of the uncracked ice surface, facing difficulty to breath in very cold water, n almost dying to freezing, Nick faster ask Maya to save him up... Then they successfully saved him n rushed back to the hq...Nick almost died too...suffered severe frostbite on his fingers.. Then evacuation was needed s every1 have to survive from this snow storm 4 half a year.. However, the helicopter doesn't have enough room 4 the 8 of the dogs... all of them was tied wif chains outside the hq..Then wif no 1 ard to look after them, afraid tat they will run ard wildly, nick tighter the collar belt n assured them tat he'll be back to evacuate them.. Then every1 left. N the pilot is 1 of nick's crew, a female.. who love nick. Promise nick tat she'll immediately fly back to pick them up..
Reached hospital, professor nNick was in hospital.. NIck wake up after few days of slp.. N realised tat she didn't went to fly back to pick the 8 dogs up.. N he was terribly upset n wanted to find all means to get back there, but no planes wanted to fly there as its 2 dangerous to fly there... Some more thinking tat he has tightened the collar belt, he was super depressed... Then thus the main movie turns to the 8 dog.. few days of waiting n the storm is getting worst. The dogs break free the chain n escape.. Old jack was too weak to move..Maya tried to help Old jack , but to no valid, thus no choice, 7 dogs went away.. In search of food, Max the most sporty n trouble maker.. Then showed how each of them, trained, teamwork n cared 4 each other... to survive this hard days..
1 nite, the sky was shined wif many colours n the dogs find it amused.. Maya as usual, becums the leaderof the grp. Lead them to hunt some birds in grps resting on the snow bed. 1 of the dogs fascinated by this beautiful scenery, run ard n stepped onto a hole n falls down the Hill... The dogs hurriedly went there n saw it severly injured.. Max was sad as his twin was dying.. All of them knew it cannot survive any longer, but just company it thru its last moment.. Max use its body to gif it warm..Then nxt morning, its dead n maya told all to moved on.. Then every1 moved in the fog.. Max too grief over its twins death, dun bear to leave its twin's corpse there, stay a while till max realise tat the rest of them are gone..
4 once, he's alone.. walking n he notice a dead whale on the ice surface.. N the corpse showed tat its being eaten.. hungry, he went down to see if he can get something to eat...Suddenly from the corpse's stomach comes out an angry big seal tat u can find in ice area.. he was very scared n start to run n stop by a dist when he saw the seal cont eating the corpse... his whining was heard by the rest of the dog.. N the grp was back.. Max wanted to prove them, courageously creep towards the corpse n grab a piece of meat n run... Angrily, the seal breaks the ice surface n dives into the water n went beneath the ice surface, chasing max from below.. Max was luring the seal away, so the rest of the dog can have their share too... Not knowing the seal was from beneath him, he dropped the meat on the ice grd.. Then he looked back at the rest of the dogs, wondering where the seal is..
At 1st i thought Max is dead, but nv expect the seal went back up the surfacen bit on Maya's leg, Max barked n warn them but its too late.. He rush n bite the seal.. Then the rest saw tat, came to Maya's aid.. Fight n bite the seal n the seal lost n dive back into the water...maya limped as it walk... Til its unable to walk, maya lie on the grd.. n gif up.. She knew she's not going to make it.. Max brings the grp to hunt the birds.. This time, he's not the troublemaker, but instead learnt from Maya n caught some birds n shared wif Maya.. Then when everything is going to be fixed tat Maya is not going to survive, They heard a snow truck to their base.. Yes Nick n crew manage to get a helicopter as the professor reallised tat the dogs saved his life n he felt bad n go wif them after few mths to see if they r able to rescue them...go to a limted place n travel but ships tat is made to travel on ice.. Then travel until a place whereby the ship can't travel, tehy use helicopter to travel to a sub base, then use the snow truck to travel til their headquarter... Nick rush there to see the Chain covered in snow...
Pulled the 1st chain, its heavy n he shift some snow aside n saw Old Jack's feet... He was very heart broken into tears.. Then he went to the rest of the chain, n nv expect the rest of the chains r light n he saw all of them break lose... Hoping 4 some miracles, n yes, he saw max n the rest of the dogs running...he counted 5... Old jack n Maya is missing... Disappointed n time is short, he faster get them into the car, but Max refused.. He keep narking n asked Nick to follow him n yes he saw Maya there...But motionless.. Sad n cry over Maya's death...But surprise tat Maya's was breathing very slightly n Maya back to conscious.. Look at nick.. then nick carry her back...
Touching movie..After tat, we went swensens to have dinner n its time to go home.. We did enjoy ourselves n then the rest of my friends went to marina south 2 have steamboat, thus go marina bay to meet them n go back sem 2gether.. If i rmb correctly, bro was having lots of relationship prob lately which i'll not say here..thus talked to him 2gether wif wen.. Then i company bro to mac n chat wif him b4 we went home...
