Trip to SIM on 23rd October 2009, Friday

Well, on this very day, I was very reluctant to travel to SIM, just to settle some timesheet stuffs for my most recent temp job, while I was still waiting for my full time job at Marina Bay Sands. I hate to admit that this form of dry waiting of uncertainties has really spoilt my life to the max. I have waited since Feb this yr and my patience has really run dry.. Nevertheless, I am still waiting for news from them.

The only latest news I have is, estimated start date for the training period is late Nov or Dec. However, even so, it was is not confirmed n finalized, as the date might even be postponed further.. Well, some how I dunno what to say, whether I count myself really lucky or super unlucky.. It really make it seems like it was a big joke to me and I can really say, its indeed a miracle that I am still barely able to survive until now..

Everything starts off since last yr where economic crisis starts, followed by my lost of perm job in advance, due to conflicts wif my new boss. I lost 900 bucks of prorated AWS.. Besides that, finding full time job seems impossible with so many ppl out of job n competing with the low job openings. In addition, I am in the means of preparing my exams which is around May, hence I can’t possibly find a full time job n quit only after a few months to prepare for my exams.

The only options was temp job.. However, it seems so hard as well. Imagine, in the past, I only have to send resume and I can receive lots of calls from the companies, but this time round, none called me even after I send resumes for more than 2 weeks.. The only news I managed to receive was investment, financial companies.. Hence after a few months, miracle came where I got my 1st temp job at Nus Law School.

Though job was low n boring, but the working hrs are short n only have to work 3 days a week, paying 7.50per hr. I only have to work from 10 – 5pm. Hence naturally the pay is not gg to be a lot for a month. However, there are times where I dun have to come to work cuz there’s nobody around. My handphone bills, and credit bills where my $ were run super low, that I am on fast cash, were all piling up, months by months…

Never expected that I finally got a job, something unlucky happened. I dislocated my right foot during 1 nite while I was barely started to jog. It was a pathetic n helpless nite.. Sitting alone on the staircase, with no aid coming to me at all, but curious passerbys.. The weather wasn’t really helpful as well, with strong winds n rain coming down out of a sudden.. I struggled home painfully tat nite..

Hence the $ I get from my 1st temp job, was being used up on medical expenses.. I went to the Chi Sensei recommended by Kia, near Marsiling Mrt. Kit companied me there by cab as I really couldn’t walk at all.. My dislocated right foot was fixed back, but the sore was too big that I have to wrap my right foot up.

Every few days I have to travel to Marsiling to treat my foot. And each consultation means 25 bucks gone.. Furthermore, I am unable to travel to work for weeks.. Cuz Nus Law location is at Newton Area, Around Newton Circus there.Upon reaching I have to climb up a hill like road until I reach the top. It was suffering. Anyway there goes my pay, n exam comes.

I stopped my job, but after my exams, I couldn’t continue with the job there as they have no more jobs for me to do. Hence I begin finding full time job, however, cuz I was waiting for Marina Bay Sands for news, Cuz during Feb, I came across the job fair at Suntec and applied many positions. I only managed to get back the news after months.. with only an sms that I have been shortlisted for an interview.

Hence I am in a dilemma whether to wait or just find another full time job. But such opportunity is rare.. Ended up I couldn’t find any jobs anyway cuz times were really bad n I am really out of $.. I was really another lowest point.. thank goodness, gov gst credit of 200 came in time to safe me a little during 1st july? Of cuz this wasn’t enough to clear my bills..

Weeks passed, I am near death again.. Thankfully a frd of mine in SIM, Angie, offered me a temp position though lowly paid.. But at least it can helped me last until Sep, where MBS told us that training will start est. around Oct. Hence I can work from Aug until end Sep. (MBS have confirmed me as their staff n I signed the employment agreement.) However, something bad happened again…

The temp job I am in, is actually covering an actual story.. They were actually hiring me as a replacement while they are finding a new full time staff. Worst news came when I noe that the training date were postpone further until further notice. Either late Nov or Dec, or might be further for it to open.. And my boss told me, they have found a new full time staff, so my service will be terminated early, where I was thinking of extending my service until Nov..

So I ended on 4th Sep without a job again.. I rot at home for almost 3 weeks where by chance, an agency called me as they have saw my resume at jobstreet.com. I found a temp job again, at UniSim. By the time I have managed to defer my Sch for a year, n was relief that my 2 papers I took last yr, barely passed.. Not very happy, but relief that I didn’t waste $ like previous yr..

Defer took me 107 bucks.. Furthermore, b4 I got my results on Sep, I have some cock up n my results were delayed.. Cuz UOL side have failed to send me a letter for registration payment early of the sem. As a result, I did not pay the fee of 261 Pounds last yr. Hence they told me to pay it else my results will be held.. I was so anxious of this additional fee, thank goodness, my 2nd sis managed to help me with that, but of cuz mum nagging at me a lot.. It was really no peace at home..

Back to my temp job, it was 6.50 per hour..8.30 – 5.30, mon to fri..The work place was the worst of all I have work as a temp in my life. Imagine 1stly, a security office, where I am a temp staff, I need to enter n exit the office, but yet I wasn’t issue a security pass. 2ndly, my com is win 2000.. So lag n slow.. Internet? Nope, I wasn’t given access, yet my other temp colleague got a new com with internet. This is because his sister is a full time staff there.. So unfair..No music at all too.. It was super boring.

I have to carry my laptop, which my 2nd jie fu brought it over from his office, for me to use, to office to work on it. To the washroom part, it was located just right behind me where I was sitting. What a location. Worst is, the toilet is unisex.. 2 cubicles inside a washroom, 1 for male, 1 for female. Can u imagine, gg to the toilet halfway, I woman come in.. It was super awkward…

Anyway what I was told was, this job from sep work until end nov..i was thinking it can last me until my full time job comes hopefully, but ended up some stunts happened again. It was only 14 days of work there n they have nothing for us to do anymore.. Hence was told not to come until further notice.. Unlucky thing was, when we enter, on the 23rd Sep, it was just after the cut off date of the agency. Hence we have to wait until 1 month plus b4 I can get my pay, which is on the 3rd Nov..

Hence now, here I am slacking at home.. On this day, 23rd Oct, cuz the cut off date was 25th Oct, I need to get this time sheet signed n stamped and faxed over, hence here I am, travelling for nothing.. Just to get tis over n done with. Anyway, just to be on the brighter side, just told my self it’s a visit to those eye candies at my office. Yup there’s a group of ladies there, some were quite pretty. Since they travel in group at times to the pantry n washroom at times, just take a look as they walked pass from my boring work.

Tat’s the only welfare for my eyes at this temp job ba.. However, I got my news upon reaching tat, they dun need any temp staffs anymore unless too many things to do.. Which means I have to find another temp job again.. But its hard cuz seldom got company need short period like less than a month..so it’s a farewell to all those eye candies there as I won’t be there anymore.

Well I wonder how am I gonna survive from now on again.. Its going to be another down soon.. Currently I have to wait long until 3rd Nov, b4 I get the pathetic 14th Day of work to survive, which can’t lasted a month after deducting those bills.. Not to mentioned b4 I get this pay, these few days, I am left wif some lucky cash I received from my 2 sisters for my birthday. They gave me 50 bucks each as a present..

Bill alone was hard.. I can’t even suspend my line for a while cuz it was freshly signed up. Initially I signed this while I was working at Suns and with y 2nd Ex, Ser. Signed up cuz the bill was ex per month as phone usage was high while I was wif her.. Having 3 lines n getting discount, though it was cheaper 80+ per month, compare to only 1 line, 100+ per month..

However, to me now, 80+ per month was tough n it was like wasted.. Cuz I am no longer with her, hence phone usage was cut to a very low amount. No longer did I over short my time, but instead I have so much of free time unused.. It seems like a waste… Anyway I just hope this bad year is gonna be over for me soon… It was really unbearable always gg down to the lowest point in my life, barely rising up.. Gimme some room to BREATHE!!!

Will i be able to cross this hurdle again this time? I really run out of wits n ideas already.. I’m dying off….
